Since I was hoping to go for an extended hike that late morning/afternoon, what I was thinking of doing was making up a few different waffle mix batches (enough for everyone to get one with a few extra) and cooking up one batch of waffles in the morning and refrigerating the other bowls of waffle mix for people to make whenever they want. It's extremely easy to use and fairly easy to clean. What do people think?

Unless it's a stew, most meals are best freshly cooked. The cooks and the guests should have some idea of what to expect.

I think as a loose rule:
10 am for breakfast
2 pm for lunch
8 pm for dinner

I just pulled these out of my head so further comment is desired.
