Does anyone remember if there was firewood for us to use for the fireplace? Does someone want to bring some along?
I assume Matt will be the keeper of the fire with Rick, Jeff, and others as assistants ;-)

PS-Anyone here think the weather will be just as cold as last year? I didn't think it'd be, but at this rate, it just might!

The people who would know about firewood being there or not are Jeff and Rae, since they lit the fire the first night. I brought some wood and firestarter (dryer lint actually), and other brought wood as well.

The Accuweather app on my iPod Touch is saying that it's actually going to be slightly warmer this year, compared with last year. We had lows during the nights last year in the single digits. The long-range forecast is now saying that Friday and Saturday is going to have highs in the 30s and lows in the mid 20s, with chances of snow on Saturday and Sunday. The highs on Sunday and Monday will be in the mid 20s, with the lows in the teens. We'll know the forecast better by the middle of next week.

I arrived at the same time as Rae and Jeff last year and if I remember correctly, there WAS some firewood. Those that want to could bring firewood and firestarters again this year…it seems like they were well used last year :-)

Also, thanks for looking up the weather. I took a quick look at weather.com and it said roughly the same thing. Like you said, the forecast could change, but more than likely, it means No walking on the lake this year, everyone! :-P

There will probably be plenty of places nearby where we can buy firewood as well. Let's assume the house will not have any when we get there, although if people arrive early Fri they can go out and grab some before the later arrivals get there.

It seems silly to have to buy firewood but guess tis common practice! But I suppose all considered it's not too much. We've got some here, I can bring along some if it makes sense.

Last year, only a few people brought firewood and we were able to have the fireplace lit most of the weekend. And if we don't have enough this year, no biggie since we have heat. I was just saying that those who want to bring firewood should feel free to do so.
